AccessibilityStatement

Everyone deserves to be able to get a quote, ask a question, and book a service — regardless of how they access the internet. We mean that. This page tells you honestly where our website stands today, what we're doing about it, and most importantly, how to reach us right now through channels that work for you.

We're Working On It — Honestly

12Volt Outfitters is a small, owner-operated mobile electronics installation business. We install dash cameras, GPS systems, car audio, and fleet electronics across South Florida — and we genuinely care about being available to every customer who needs us.

We are actively working to make this website accessible to people with disabilities, including those who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, or other assistive technologies. Our target standard is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We have not yet completed a formal third-party accessibility audit, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can tell you is that we have built this site with accessibility in mind from the start — and we are committed to improving it continuously.

A personal note: We are one person running multiple businesses trying to do the right thing. This isn't a corporate compliance checkbox for us — it's about making sure that if someone needs their vehicle outfitted and they happen to use a screen reader or navigate by keyboard, they can still get to us without hitting a wall. If you hit a wall, please call or text us directly. We will pick up.

Accessibility Features

The following accessibility practices have been implemented in the design and code of this website. We are not claiming perfection — we are telling you what we have actively done:

  • Skip to main content link — included at the top of every page to help keyboard and screen reader users bypass repetitive navigation
  • Semantic HTML structure — we use proper heading hierarchy, landmark regions, lists, and page structure rather than relying solely on visual layout
  • ARIA labels and roles — navigation menus, buttons, and interactive regions include ARIA attributes to assist screen reader users
  • Keyboard navigation support — we have designed interactive elements to be reachable via keyboard; we acknowledge this may not be perfect on every element
  • Labeled form fields — quote and contact form inputs include associated labels so assistive technologies can identify them
  • Alt text on images — we have added descriptive alt attributes to images throughout the site; we continue to audit for gaps
  • High contrast color scheme — our yellow-on-black and white-on-black palette was chosen in part for readability and contrast
  • Scalable text — the layout is designed to remain usable when browser text size is increased
  • Mobile and touch support — the site is built responsively and designed for touch screen use

Important: Listing these features is not a guarantee of full compliance. It is a description of our intent and effort. If any of these features are not working as described for you, that is a bug — please report it and we will fix it.

Where We're Not There Yet

We want to be specific rather than vague about what we haven't solved yet:

  • No formal audit completed — we have not hired a third-party accessibility auditor. Our compliance is based on our own implementation and testing, not a certified review.
  • No cookie consent banner — Google Analytics runs on this site and sets cookies without a consent prompt. We acknowledge this is a gap and plan to address it.
  • Third-party content — Google Maps, Google Analytics, and any social media embeds are governed by their own accessibility standards, which we cannot control.
  • No captions on video content — if we publish video in the future, we will add captions. We do not currently have video on the site.
  • The AI quote tool — we are developing an AI-powered quote assistant. Its accessibility has not yet been audited. We will address this before launch.

Our commitment: We will not claim we have solved something we haven't. As each of these gaps is addressed, we will update this page. The date at the top will reflect when this was last revised.

You Don't Have to Use the Website

This is the most important part of this page. If anything on our website isn't working for you — the form won't submit, the navigation is confusing with a screen reader, the text is hard to read, anything at all — please just reach out to us directly.

We are a mobile installation business. We come to you. The whole point is that we remove friction — and that applies to how you contact us too. You can reach us through any of these channels, all of which have their own built-in accessibility tools:

Whatever you need — a dash cam quoted, a fleet GPS system, car audio installed — we can handle the whole conversation through any of these channels. Get your quote, schedule your install, ask every question. No website required, ever.

How This Site Is Built

This website is built using standard HTML, CSS, and PHP — no heavy JavaScript frameworks, no excessive third-party scripts. It is designed to load quickly and work with assistive technologies including:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom and text scaling
  • High contrast and forced colors mode
  • Touch and switch access on mobile devices

We test on Chrome, Safari, and Firefox. If you experience issues with a specific browser or assistive technology, let us know and we will investigate.

Tell Us What's Not Working

If you hit an accessibility barrier on this website — a form that won't submit by keyboard, a page that's confusing with a screen reader, an image with no description, anything — we genuinely want to know. Not because we have to say that, but because we will actually fix it.

We are a small business. When you contact us about an accessibility issue, you are talking to the owner. There is no ticket system, no offshore support queue. You will get a real response from a real person within 2 business days.
