12Volt Outfitters Of South Florida LLC is a mobile vehicle electronics installation company based in Hollywood, Florida. We install dash cameras, GPS trackers, car audio systems, fleet electronics, and marine electronics throughout South Florida. We operate primarily through our website at 12voltoutfitters.com and by appointment.
We are a small, owner-operated business. When you submit a quote request or contact us, you are communicating directly with us — not a call center or third-party service team.
What We Collect
We collect two types of data: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our site.
Information you provide:
- Name — first and last name from quote or contact forms
- Email address — used to respond to your request and optionally send a copy of your submission
- Phone number — used to follow up on your quote request
- Service location — city or address you provide for mobile installation
- Vehicle information — type, year, make, model as provided
- Project details — the description of your installation request
- Newsletter preference — whether you opted in to future updates
Information collected automatically:
- IP address — logged with each form submission and site visit
- Browser, operating system, and device type — collected via our visitor tracking system
- Pages visited and time spent — we log which pages you view and how long you engage
- Referral source — how you arrived at our site (Google search, direct, social media, etc.)
- Search terms — the Google search query that brought you to our site, when available
- Interaction signals — phone number taps, quote button clicks, form starts and abandons
Plain English: Our site runs its own lightweight visitor tracking in addition to Google Analytics. We built this to understand how people use our site without relying entirely on Google. Both systems run simultaneously.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) on this website. This means Google places cookies on your browser and collects data about your visit — including your approximate location, device, browser, pages viewed, and how you interact with the site.
We want to be direct about this: Google Analytics is free to us because Google uses the data it collects across millions of websites to improve its advertising products. In a practical sense, your visit data contributes to Google's data ecosystem. We do not sell your data ourselves, but our use of Google Analytics means a third party — Google — receives information about your visit and uses it according to their own policies.
We currently do not have a cookie consent banner on this site. By using this website, cookies may be set by Google Analytics without a prompt. We acknowledge this is not ideal and plan to add a consent mechanism in the future.

How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Responding to quote requests — your name, contact info, and project details are used to prepare and deliver your quote
- Following up — we may call or email you to clarify details or schedule your installation
- Improving our website — visitor behavior data helps us understand what's working and what isn't
- Understanding our market — aggregate data (not individual profiles) helps us see which services are most in demand, which locations we serve most, and when people typically reach out
- Future marketing — if you opted in to our newsletter, we may contact you about new services or promotions when that program launches
What we don't do: We do not sell your personal information to data brokers or marketing companies. We do not build individual advertising profiles. We do not share your contact information with other businesses for their marketing purposes.
Third Parties
The following third parties may receive data related to your use of this site or your interactions with us:
- Google (Analytics) — receives visit data as described in Section 3. Google's privacy policy governs their use of that data.
- Email providers — quote submissions are delivered to our business email. We currently use Gmail (Google). Email content including your name, contact info, and project details passes through Google's mail infrastructure.
- Future email marketing platform — if and when we launch a newsletter, we will likely use Gmail or Mailchimp. If newsletter subscribers are added to a third-party platform, we will update this policy and notify you.
- Hosting provider (GoDaddy) — our site is hosted on GoDaddy servers. Server logs including IP addresses are retained by the hosting provider per their own policies.
AI Tools
We are in the process of building an AI-powered quote response tool for this website. When active, this feature will work as follows:
- Information you enter into our quote form — including your name, vehicle type, and requested services — may be sent to Anthropic's API (the company behind Claude AI) to generate a personalized quote response
- This transmission occurs over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Anthropic has its own privacy policy governing how API data is handled, available at anthropic.com/privacy
Current status: This feature is not yet live. When it launches, this section will be updated with specific details about what data is transmitted and how it is used. We will not activate AI-assisted quoting without updating this policy first.
Data Retention
Quote requests and contact form submissions are stored in log files on our server. These logs are not automatically deleted and may be retained indefinitely unless we manually clear them.
Visitor behavior data (pages visited, interaction signals, device info) is stored in similar log files on our server. This data is aggregated for analytics purposes and is not linked to named individuals in our internal system.
On deletion requests: If you would like us to remove your information, we will make a reasonable effort to locate and delete your submission from our logs. However, because data is stored in flat log files alongside many other entries, and because some data may have been anonymized or aggregated, we cannot guarantee complete removal in every case. We will always try.
Your Rights
Regardless of where you live, we believe you have the right to:
- Know what data we have about you — contact us and we'll tell you what we can find
- Request deletion — we'll make reasonable efforts to remove your data from our logs
- Opt out of Google Analytics — use Google's opt-out tool linked in Section 3
- Not receive marketing — if you opted into our newsletter and change your mind, contact us and we will remove you
Florida residents may have additional rights under Florida law. We take those obligations seriously and will respond to any request within a reasonable timeframe.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the information listed in Section 11.
Children
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy when our practices change — including when we launch the AI quote tool, a newsletter platform, or add a cookie consent banner. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
We won't notify you of every minor update, but we will update this page before any significant change to how your data is collected or shared.
